Chief Pharmacy Officer

As Chief Pharmacy Officer, Brent oversees Health Strategies, Provider Services, and Lumicera Health Services. 

Within the Health Strategies division, Brent’s accountability includes clinical and population health initiatives, drug utilization review programs, formulary and drug rebate management, and outcomes management. His accountability within Provider Services includes developing pharmacy networks that meet client access, discount, and quality needs. This includes procurement strategies for pharmacy services through retail, mail and specialty channels to provide the best value to clients and members. Additional scope includes Navitus pharmacy network oversight, including auditing and credentialing.

Lumicera Health Services is a wholly owned Navitus subsidiary and full-service national specialty pharmacy accredited by URAC and ACHC. In his role, Brent provides strategic direction and oversight, supporting Lumicera’s business model, its growth and regulatory needs.

Brent began his tenure with Navitus in 2004 and has served in multiple capacities, including Clinical Pharmacist, Formulary Program Manager, Director of Industry Relations and Contracting, and Vice President of Health Strategies. Prior to joining Navitus, Brent worked as a Drug Information Pharmacist at Dean Health System.

Brent is a licensed pharmacist in Wisconsin and a member of the Wisconsin Governor’s Task Force on Reducing Prescription Drug Prices, as well as an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin, and the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy.

Brent holds Bachelor of Science degrees in pharmacy and chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Edgewood College.
